Regular massages are recommended for everyone. Massages not only relieve muscle pain, but they improve blood and lymphatic circulation, plus massages calm the nervous system. Many people receive massages once every week or two, sometimes more frequently, depending on how much pain they are experiencing. It is not advised to wait longer than a month, as your muscles can revert back to their old patterns. If you are experiencing more stress than usual, you will begin to feel the tightness creep back in more quickly.
In between your massages, I would advise to drink plenty of water and make sure you do daily stretching exercises to keep your muscles loose.
